Wedding Photographers in Somerset
We were so excited to photograph the Somerset wedding of Caroline & Will, and even more excited that is was our first wedding at The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House! We have become good friends with the venue owners since moving to Somerset so we were really looking forward to working together on this amazing wedding!
It was a beautiful summers day when we headed to a pretty little Somerset village where the bride was getting ready. Caroline had the prettiest bottle of Gucci perfume that Kerrie couldn’t stop smiling at whilst photographing it with the brides stunning bouquet as the backdrop. The mother of the bride helped the bride into her beautiful wedding dress that had the most exquisite tulle skirt, she looked simply stunning. The bridesmaids wore the loveliest blush bridesmaids dresses and were chatting in the kitchen making sure everything was gathered together before they all made their way outside where the local farmers Tractor was ready to escort them to the Church! This is how you do a Somerset wedding in style!
The groom Will was greeting family & friends at the pretty little church in West Stour, he wore a light grey suit with a blush tie, just perfect for a summer wedding! The bride arrived and the ceremony began. Our brides really do have the biggest smiles and Caroline’s lit up the church as she walked in on the arm of her father. Caroline was glowing as she held Wills hand and they took their vows. The couple are huge animal lovers and surprised everyone by having their cute little dog Sammy as their ring bearer! He came running down the aisle and was so excited to see everyone, he even had a little bow tie on, how sweet!
As everyone sang hymns we couldn’t help noticing a beautiful butterfly flying around the bridal party. It was rather large and stayed around for the rest of the service, it made for a few smiles from some of the guests. We headed out for a confetti shot which you know we just love as they are so much fun! And after a few family photos we all made our way to The Old Milking Parlour. As a DIY barn wedding venue in Somerset it really gives couples the ability to put their own stamp on their wedding day. Barn venues in Somerset have come a long way in recent years, you can now bring that modern feel to the English Countryside. And our couple did just that! Caroline & Will hired a marquee where guests could sit in shade of the hot sun, there were games outside on the grounds of The Old Milking Parlour, and pink sashes and pretty jars of flowers completed the reception.
The speeches were made and everyone was treated to a buffet of pizza and ice cream. We took the opportunity after the wedding breakfast to whisk the bride and groom off to the impressive woods at The Old Milking Parlour for some beautiful couple photos. The golden light was just perfect. The venue owner Lou came along, not only to help out carrying the bouquet and fluffing the dress but also to show us the best spots on her land, from hidden doorways to beautiful little spots where the sun was casting its beautiful glow, it was a natural light photographers delight! Lou had laid on a surprise hamper for the couple, they sipped prosecco and enjoyed a few moments alone away from everyone.
There was such a lovely atmosphere, the August sun was shining, guests were chatting, children were playing. The time came for the pretty woodland wedding cheese cake to be cut then the couple hit the dance floor. Thank you Caroline & Will for letting us be a part of your wonderful day, this will be a Somerset wedding to remember!
